Overview
Anne Dorshimer is a litigation attorney with experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of commercial litigation matters, including class action defense, administrative enforcement actions, healthcare litigation, real estate disputes, and bankruptcy adversary proceedings. She represents clients across multiple industries, including healthcare, real estate, agribusiness, wineries, and the alcohol beverage industry. Anne also advises clients on risk mitigation strategies, helping businesses identify and address potential legal and regulatory risks before they escalate into disputes.
Prior to joining Stoel Rives, Anne served as Assistant General Counsel for the Department of Financial Institutions, Securities Division; clerked for Magistrate Judge David W. Christel in the Western District of Washington; and clerked for Chief Judge Frances Tydingco-Gatewood in the District Court of Guam.

Experience
Administrative, Violation Defense, Taxation
- Obtained appellate victory on behalf of Washington distiller, Blue Spirits Distilling, LLC v. WSLCB, 15 Wn. App. 2d 779, 478 P.3d 153 (2020). Court held that WSLCB cannot require distillers to pay spirits retailer licensing fees when they acted as spirits retailers. Distillers across Washington likely collectively saved multi-millions as a result.
- Obtained appellate victory and $6.7 million refund of real estate excise tax on behalf of taxpayer. Kaiser Found. Health Plan of Washington v. Dep't of Revenue, 30 Wn. App. 2d 1054 (2024).
- Obtained Washington appellate victory on behalf of loan servicer in 2022. Court held that federal and state courts alike had been misinterpreting a 2016 Washington appellate holding (Edmundson v. Bank of America, 194 Wn. App. 920, 378 P.3d 272 (2016)), and held that a bankruptcy discharge of a promissory note does not automatically trigger the statute of limitations to begin running for enforcement of the deed of trust secured to real property.
Wineries and Alcohol Beverages
- Prevailed in three-day private arbitration on behalf of Washington winery in breach of contract dispute with former distributor.
- Quickly oppose out-of-state temporary restraining order and obtain favorable settlement terms on behalf of Oregon winery against former distributor.
