Winners Named in 2018 Sacramento Region Innovation Awards
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento Region Innovation Awards program is proud to announce the winners of the third annual contest, revealed today during a ceremony hosted by organizers Stoel Rives LLP, Moss Adams LLP and the Sacramento Business Journal. Eight winners and 13 finalists were recognized during the luncheon, held at the Hilton Sacramento Arden West and featuring master of ceremonies Kitty O’Neal of NewsRadio KFBK.
The awards program recognizes regional innovation across eight categories, honoring the people and organizations that advance new products, services and processes from the Sacramento area*.

Recognizing innovation beyond business and technology, a special “Innovation of the Year” award was given to Wide Open Walls — Sacramento’s arts and mural festival founded by David Sobon in 2015.
“Wide Open Walls enhances our growing reputation for being a diverse, innovative and creative place to live, work and play,” said Melissa Jones, program co-chair and managing partner of Stoel Rives’ California offices.
Past recipients of the top award include Golden 1 Center, home of the NBA’s Sacramento Kings, and the University of California, Davis, both acknowledged for making broad and profound impacts on the regional innovation community.
Nearly 100 nominations were evaluated by a selection committee consisting of local leaders from civic, business, academic and technology sectors. In addition to announcing the winners, the following finalists were recognized during the ceremony:
