Stoel Rives Welcomes Real Estate Attorney in Seattle
Lateral hiring of Kate Mathews continues expansion of Stoel Rives’ top-rated national real estate practice
SEATTLE — Stoel Rives LLP is pleased to announce that experienced real estate attorney Kate Mathews has joined the firm in its Seattle office. Her addition continues an ongoing expansion that bolsters the firm’s ability to provide sophisticated legal advice and superior value to clients with a variety of legal needs related to real estate, construction, and land use.
“We are proud to welcome Kate to our Seattle office,” said Vanessa Soriano Power, Managing Partner of Stoel Rives’ Seattle office. “Recruiting the top talent in Seattle continues to be a priority for Stoel Rives, and Kate’s knowledge and experience deepens our already stellar bench of real estate attorneys in Seattle.”
Mathews joins the firm’s Real Estate, Development & Construction Group, where she will counsel clients including private real estate developers, tax-credit investors, and public housing authorities. She focuses her practice on the development of multi-family, mixed-use and industrial real estate projects, including structuring, construction and permanent financing, leasing, low-income housing, tax credit financing, and workforce housing initiatives and divesture of assets.
Mathews is the latest lateral hire for the Seattle Real Estate, Development & Construction Group, which has welcomed a total of 14 leading attorneys since the beginning of the year.
“Kate is an excellent addition to our team,” said Chris Osborn, a recent lateral hire who joined Stoel Rives in February as a real estate partner. “Her addition to the group expands on the services that we can offer to companies in the Pacific Northwest and nationwide for their real estate development and construction matters.”
“I wanted to join Stoel Rives’ Real Estate group in Seattle to better serve my clients,” said Mathews. “Stoel Rives’ resources are unparalleled in Seattle and across the country. I am able to work across practice areas and rely upon the talents of hundreds of attorneys across the firm’s 10 offices to bring my clients the legal solutions they need to reach their objectives.”
Prior to joining Stoel Rives, Mathews was a member of the real estate practice groups at Polsinelli and Foster Pepper. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Duquesne University and a law degree from Northwestern University School of Law.
