Stoel Rives Welcomes Leading Intellectual Property Attorney to the Portland Office

PORTLAND- Stoel Rives LLP, a full-service U.S. business law firm, is pleased to announce that intellectual property attorney Matthew R. Wilmot has joined the firm as a partner in the Portland office. Wilmot previously was a shareholder in the Portland office of Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, P.C., where he was the leader of the firm’s Trademark, Copyright and Transactional IP practice group, as well as the firm’s Technology Industry group.

Along with his transactional practice, Wilmot also has an active trademark, trade dress, unfair competition, trade secret, copyright, domain name, and intellectual property litigation practice.  He regularly assists clients with searching and clearing trademarks both domestically and internationally; prosecuting domestic and international trademark applications; developing and maintaining trademark portfolios; copyright and trademark advice and counseling; trade secret advice and counseling; domain name and website issues; intellectual property due diligence; entertainment, media and advertising law; and enforcing intellectual property rights both in state and federal courts, as well as before the USPTO’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Wilmot is a 2005 honors graduate of Willamette University College of Law.  He also holds a B.A. from Willamette.
