Stoel Rives Unveils Newly Renovated Office in Minneapolis

Press Release

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Stoel Rives LLP is pleased to announce the completion of a renovation of its 25,000-square-foot Minneapolis office that enables the firm to work more collaboratively, increasing efficiency and improving the value that the firm delivers to its clients.

Stoel Rives worked with commercial real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield, design firm NELSON, and Greiner Construction to complete the project, which focused on architectural and finish updates throughout the office, created new ergonomic workstations, and increased the number of well-equipped collaboration rooms for the entire staff. The space also features the addition of a well-appointed and fully branded centralized community hub, or “Bar Stoel.” This branded amenity better reflects the firm’s culture and values and encourages employee engagement.

“This renovation project was a huge undertaking, and we all would like to thank NELSON and Greiner Construction for their wonderful work,” said Robert A. Kukuljan, Office Managing Partner of Stoel Rives’ Minneapolis office. “The Minneapolis staff is excited about the changes, and we can already feel how the new space facilitates a more collaborative and innovative workplace culture.”

Over the span of eight months, NELSON worked on updates including a renovated and updated reception and conference areas for guests and clients with new finishes throughout the remainder of the floor. New height-adjustable, ergonomic workstations were installed, replacing the previous outdated millwork design. New internal collaboration rooms now provide teams of all sizes the opportunity to better engage with one another, based on their project requirements and time frames.

Stoel Rives needed a space that would provide a combination of areas for work and events. The design captures a pub-inspired feel by creating a gathering place at the office’s central core. Increasing the capacity of the office’s breakroom by 50 percent, the expansive pub features amenities including specialty flooring materials, pressed tin ceiling tiles, antiqued mirrored wall details, custom tufted banquette seating, a specialty coffee, wine, and beer beverage center, and a kegerator, featuring ever-changing locally sourced microbrews on tap.

“The alignment of Stoel Rives’ goals and objectives with NELSON’s design vision created great synergy for the design team resulting in a fun and productive experience for all,” said Scott Hierlinger, NELSON Principal. “Greiner Construction did a wonderful job in keeping the project aligned to the schedule and budget. Ultimately, it was truly a model for how an experienced, dedicated team can create a successful project.”

Environmental initiatives were kept in mind throughout the design process. Existing fluorescent and halogen lighting sources were changed out to LED sources throughout the suite. Sustainable carpet tiles were chosen from companies with goals aligning with Stoel Rives, local wood flooring was sourced for the breakroom floor, and existing materials such as wood paneling and doors were salvaged and reused, when possible.

The finished space embodies an innovative environment mixed with unique design elements to provide employees with places for both work and play while capturing the culture of Stoel Rives.
