Stoel Rives Receives 2021 ‘Innovations in Diversity’ Award for Move the Needle Fund
PORTLAND, Ore. — Stoel Rives LLP is pleased to announce that the firm received an “Innovations in Diversity Award” from Profiles in Diversity Journal for its involvement in founding the Move the Needle Fund. The awards program, now in its 18th year, honors corporations, organizations, and institutions that have developed innovative solutions to build workforce diversity, inclusion, and human equity. Stoel Rives and the other honorees are featured in the publication’s December 15, 2021, online edition.
Move the Needle is an initiative of Diversity Lab, an incubator for innovative ideas and solutions that boost diversity and inclusion in law. Funded by a small group of law firms, Move the Needle is a five-year model program that, with the involvement of more than two dozen corporate general counsels, tests and measures innovative diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies, with the goal of developing demonstrably successful tools to help the legal profession diversify.
Stoel Rives is committed to improving the retention rate of its diverse lawyers (specifically women, racial/ethnic minorities, individuals identifying as LGBTQ+, and individuals with disabilities) to at least equal the retention rate of its non-diverse lawyers by 2025, with the ultimate goal of increasing the percentage of diverse partners in the firm.
