Stoel Rives Promotes 13 Attorneys to Partner Status

PORTLAND, Ore. - Stoel Rives LLP, an Am Law 200 law firm, is pleased to announce that 13 of its attorneys became new partners of the firm effective Jan. 1, 2017. Located in six of the firm’s offices nationwide, the new partners are focused on client value, diversity and innovation, which are keystones of Stoel Rives’ corporate culture and commitment to excellence.

  • C. Andrew Gibson, Portland, Oregon. Gibson serves clients in real estate, construction, and design assisting with construction projects, negotiations and dispute resolution.
  • Laurie W. Huotari, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Huotari practices corporate law representing clients in all aspects of mergers and acquisitions, company reorganizations, private equity financing, corporate governance, commercial transactions and joint venture and strategic alliances.
  • John S. Laney, Seattle, Washington. Laney focuses his practice in corporate law. He represents clients in corporate governance matters; mergers and acquisitions; and corporate, securities and financing transactions, with an emphasis on the development, structuring, financing and acquisition of renewable energy projects.
  • Rachel C. Lee, Portland, Oregon.  Lee is a business litigator with a focus on appellate, False Claims Act, and complex civil litigation matters.
  • Kirk B. Maag, Portland, Oregon. Maag focuses on natural resources and environmental law advising clients in natural resource industries, including water suppliers, forest products companies, agribusinesses and manufacturers. 
  • Chad T. Marriott, Portland, Oregon. Marriott serves as counsel to sponsors, owners and investors, as well as commercial and industrial customers, in the development, sale, acquisition and financing of renewable and thermal energy projects. 
  • Jason B. McCammon, Salt Lake City, Utah. McCammon is a registered patent attorney in the Technology and Intellectual Property practice group. He focuses on all aspects of patent strategy and client counseling in a wide variety of technological areas, including: medical devices, solar and green power technologies, and mechanical devices. 
  • Ramona L. Monroe, Anchorage, Alaska. Monroe focuses her practice in environmental and natural resources law including representation of oil and gas companies. 
  • Jordan B. Olsen, Salt Lake City, Utah. Olsen is a registered patent attorney in the Technology and Intellectual Property practice group. His practice focuses on U.S. and foreign patent prosecution and counseling.
  • Sarah Johnson Phillips, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Phillips is a lawyer in Stoel Rives’ energy development practice group where she focuses on energy project development, buying, selling and financing energy projects, and energy regulatory matters. 
  • Allison C. Smith, Sacramento, California. Smith is an environmental, natural resources and energy law attorney.
  • Alfredo Villanueva, Portland, Oregon. Villanueva’s practice comprises an array of patent and trademark services for clients of the firm’s Technology and Intellectual Property practice group.
  • Thomas A. Woods, Sacramento, California. Woods is a complex civil litigator with multiparty, mass tort and class action litigation experience serving clients in agribusiness, food and beverage and medical device industries.
