Stoel Rives Portland Office Adds Kevin Burnett as Corporate Law Partner

PORTLAND, Ore. — Stoel Rives LLP, a member of the Am Law 200 and Oregon’s largest and market-leading corporate law firm, is pleased to announce that Kevin D. Burnett has joined the firm as a partner in the firm’s Corporate Group in Portland. Burnett is a former partner with K&L Gates in Portland, where he served as a practice group coordinator for the firm’s banking and asset finance practice group.

Burnett’s practice focuses on corporate transactional matters, including the representation of strategic and private equity buyers in mergers and acquisitions, assisting growth companies with bridge and venture capital financings, and serving as general outside counsel to growth and middle market companies in a variety of industries.  Additionally, Kevin’s practice involves the representation of sponsors, borrowers, and lenders on a variety of complex debt financing transactions, including leveraged acquisition financings, ABL facilities, energy and infrastructure financings, and venture debt transactions.

Admitted to practice in Oregon, California, and Washington, Burnett earned his bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Stanford University and his juris doctor, cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law. He earned a Russian language certification from the Defense Language Institute and attended École Polytechnique in France where he studied European Union integration issues. He simultaneously worked for the French National Railway Company.

Burnett has been recognized by Chambers USA as one of America’s leading lawyers for business in corporate/M&A law. He is proficient in French and Russian and certified as a Voice Intercept Analyst by the U.S. Department of Defense. He has also served in the U.S. Army as a Russian linguist and intelligence analyst.
