Stoel Rives Nationally Ranked in 2023 U.S. News—Best Lawyers® ‘Best Law Firms’

PORTLAND, Ore.—In the 2023 U.S. News—Best Lawyers^® “Best Law Firms” survey, Stoel Rives earned 30 national rankings and a further 110 rankings in nine metropolitan areas where the firm has offices.

The firm received National Tier 1 rankings for its practices in Environmental Law, Land Use & Zoning Law, Litigation – Construction, Litigation – Environmental, and Natural Resources Law. The firm also was ranked National Tier 2 in 13 practice areas and National Tier 3 for 12 practice areas. In addition, nine of Stoel Rives’ offices earned 75 Metropolitan Tier 1, 29 Metropolitan Tier 2, and six Metropolitan Tier 3 rankings.

The “Best Law Firms” survey ranks practice areas by tier for more than 15,000 law firms across the U.S. Included firms are evaluated using a rigorous evaluation process that includes the collection of client and lawyer evaluations, peer reviews from leading attorneys in their fields, and review of additional information provided by law firms as part of a formal submission process.

To be eligible for a “Best Law Firm” ranking in a practice area, a firm must have at least one lawyer included in The Best Lawyers in America^® for that area. In the 2023 edition, 171 Stoel Rives attorneys were named“Best Lawyers” or “Ones to Watch,” with 16 named “Lawyer of the Year” in their respective practices and metro areas.
