Stoel Rives Earns Perfect Score in 2019 Corporate Equality Index
Portland, OR — Stoel Rives LLP is pleased to announce that it received a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2019 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s premier benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality, which is administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Stoel Rives is one of 572 major U.S. businesses that earned top marks.
“I think I speak for everyone at the firm in saying we appreciate the recognition of the firm’s absolute and ongoing commitment to workplace diversification,” partner Tim Taylor, Chair of Stoel Rives’ Diversity and Inclusion Committee, said. “And I would also like to say thank you to the members of our committee for their tireless efforts in building inclusivity at the firm.”
“The top-scoring companies on this year’s CEI are not only establishing policies that affirm and include employees here in the United States, they are applying these policies to their global operations and impacting millions of people beyond our shores,” said HRC President Chad Griffin. “Time and again, leading American businesses have shown that protecting their employees and customers from discrimination isn’t just the right thing to do -- it’s also good for business.”
Stoel Rives once again qualified for the “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality” trademark by earning a perfect score across all four of the current CEI criteria:
- Equal opportunity employment policy
- Employment benefits for LGBTQ employees, including new for 2019 parity between employees with different-sex spouses and same-sex partners or spouses for a number of benefits and the removal of transgender exclusions from all benefit plans
- Organizational LGBTQ competency – competency training, resources or accountability measures; and an employee group or diversity council
- Public commitment to LGBTQ employees and the LGBTQ community at large
