Press Release

SEATTLE — Stoel Rives LLP is pleased to announce that environmental and natural resources attorney Beth S. Ginsberg has been admitted to the American College of Environmental Lawyers (ACOEL). Ginsberg was admitted at the organization’s annual meeting, held Oct. 26 to 28 in Charleston, South Carolina, and becomes the third ACOEL Fellow at the firm, joining Jeffrey W. Leppo and Kevin J. Beaton.

The American College of Environmental Lawyers is a professional association of distinguished lawyers who practice environmental law. Membership is by invitation only and members must be recognized by their peers as preeminent in their field. ACOEL’s mission is to maintain and improve the ethical practice of environmental law, the administration of justice, and the development of environmental law at both the state and federal levels.

Ginsberg has been practicing in the field of environmental law and policy for more than three decades. She has litigated natural resource, wildlife, and environmental cases and has counseled clients on the complexities of regulatory compliance and permitting issues under all major federal and state environmental statutes. She focuses her practice at Stoel Rives on complex infrastructure projects, traditional and renewable energy resources, and industrial facilities.

Some of the work Ginsberg has been involved in includes litigation challenging the construction of the third runway at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, the deepening of the Columbia River Navigation Channel, Snake River maintenance dredging, the ongoing operation of the Federal Columbia River Power System, and the Deschutes River Irrigation Projects.

Before practicing with Stoel Rives, Ginsberg served as Senior Advisor to the EPA’s Assistant Administrator. She also served with the U.S. Department of Justice, Honors Program, Lands and Natural Resources Division, Environmental Defense Section. She is a recipient of the Assistant Attorney General’s Special Commendation for Outstanding Service.
