Press Release

San Diego, CA – Stoel Rives LLP is pleased to announce the publication of the fifth edition of its solar energy guide, The Law of Solar: A Guide to Business and Legal Issues. The guide is one of a series of books published by Stoel Rives that provide developers, investors and lenders with a general overview of the legal issues encountered in several renewable energy industries.

Stoel Rives energy attorney and guide editor Morten Lund notes: “Solar energy projects, like other renewable generation projects, are subject to a plethora of real property issues, regulatory and permitting requirements, interconnection issues, power purchase negotiations, financing challenges, tax matters, and construction contracting.... This guide contains insights we have gained from practical experience assisting participants in numerous solar energy projects covering a diverse range of sizes and installations, as well as our experiences serving the U.S. renewable energy industry.”

In addition to general updates reflecting the realities of today’s solar energy industry, the guide, first published in 2003, includes a new chapter, “Community Solar.”
