Stoel Rives Adds Seth Row, Former Co-Head of Insurance Recovery at Miller Nash, to Litigation Group in Portland Office

PORTLAND, Ore.—Stoel Rives, an AmLaw200 firm, announced today that trial attorney Seth Row has joined the firm as a litigation partner in Portland. Row, who joins from Miller Nash LLP where he co-chaired its insurance recovery practice group, brings decades of experience in policyholder-side insurance recovery to Stoel Rives.

Row’s practice involves a mix of litigation, counseling, and behind-the-scenes advocacy to clients in multiple industries. Over more than 20 years of practice Row has helped clients to recover millions of dollars under multiple kinds of insurance policies including pollution liability, property, builder’s risk, business income, Directors & Officers, representations & warranties, marine, and cyber-risk, among others. He also has broad experience in business litigation, including commercial disputes, theft of trade secrets, products liability, and employment. His clients come from a broad range of sectors including banks, manufacturers, publicly traded entities, technology startups, agriculturalists, non-profits, and universities.

He is one of only 350 Fellows and was the first policyholder-side attorney from Oregon to be elected. Row earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, cum laude, and received a B.A. from Yale University. Previously, he was a partner at Parsons Farnell & Grein, and an associate at Holland & Knight and Bullivant Houser Bailey. Earlier in his career, he served as a law clerk for Honorable Fred Van Sickle of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington and as staff counsel for the Federal Election Commission, prosecuting alleged violations of federal campaign finance laws.
