Stoel Rives Adds Partner Jennifer Spaletta, Water Law Attorney, to Environmental Team
SACRAMENTO, Calif.—Stoel Rives, an AmLaw 200 firm, announced today that Jennifer Spaletta has joined the firm as an Environment, Land & Natural Resources partner in Sacramento.
Spaletta is an experienced water, real estate and business law attorney and litigator. She has served as lead trial counsel in bench and jury trials throughout California and in the Court of Federal Claims in Washington, D.C. She has also served as general or special counsel to several public agencies, including reclamation and irrigation districts, water conservation districts, county water agencies, and local businesses, including farming operations, industrial manufacturing companies and food processing companies.
“Jen is a welcome addition to our Environmental team,” said Tina Grovier, Stoel Rives Environmental, Land Use & Natural Resources Practice Group chair. “She will further bolster our California water law practice, which has seen incredible growth since Elizabeth Ewens joined us in 2020.”
Spaletta has spent the last decade as principal of Spaletta Law PC and prior to that was a partner at Herum\Crabtree, an agriculture law-focused boutique in Stockton, Calif. She is also co-owner of family-owned citrus, walnut, and wine grape farming operations in California’s San Joaquin Valley. Active in her community, Spaletta is a past board member of the San Joaquin County Women’s Center and the Lodi District Grape Growers Association. In 2020, Spaletta was named Agribusiness Person of the Year by the Lodi Chamber of Commerce.

Spaletta received her J.D. and her M.S. in Agriculture and Resources Economics simultaneously from the University of California, Davis. She received her B.S. in Agribusiness Policy and Water Science from California Polytechnic State University—San Luis Obispo.
