Real Estate Attorney Joseph McCarthy Joins Advisory Board of Pinnacle Partners

SEATTLE – Stoel Rives LLP is pleased to announce that real estate development attorney Joseph P. McCarthy has joined the advisory board of Seattle-based Pinnacle Partners, a Qualified Opportunity Zone Fund manager.

Pinnacle Partners was formed in early 2019 by Seattle-area real estate professionals, entrepreneurs and finance experts to invest in qualified opportunity zone businesses through one or more qualified opportunity zone funds under the newly created federal opportunity zone program. The QOZ program was created by Congress to promote economic development in Opportunity Zones. The Opportunity Zone program was added to the Internal Revenue Code by the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and provides significant tax incentives for investment in those targeted areas.

McCarthy serves as chair of Stoel Rives’ Real Estate Development Industry Group. He is a partner in the firm’s real estate practice, where he advises his clients in joint ventures, equity financing, debt financing, construction, leasing, and operations involving multifamily, mixed-use, retail, office and industrial projects, condominiums and affordable housing in the western United States.
