Puget Sound Business Journal Honors Stoel Rives Seattle Office Managing Partner Vanessa Power in ‘Power 100’

Press Release

Law firm leader recognized among Seattle’s influential business leaders who are driving the region’s booming economy and strengthening the Pacific Northwest community

SEATTLE — Stoel Rives LLP is proud to announce Vanessa Soriano Power, managing partner of the firm’s Seattle office, has been honored by the Puget Sound Business Journal as one of the inaugural “Power 100.” The Power 100 are people who shape their industries in the Puget Sound as influencers, innovators, and luminaries.

Power led Stoel Rives’ Seattle office during a successful, news-making year. In the past year, the Seattle office welcomed 30 new lawyers, including 11 lateral partners. New additions secured Stoel as the preeminent real estate practice in Seattle, bolstered the firm’s national project finance team, and expanded the depth of business practices. The firm’s expansion was covered by business news outlets including the Puget Sound Business Journal.

“I am honored to be named one of the Power 100,” said Power. “As someone who grew up in Seattle, I am thrilled to play a role in our progress. Progress comes with increased commitments. While we continue to build upwards, we remain grounded by recognizing we stand on the land of the Duwamish and by taking seriously our obligation as lawyers to share our skills. I am grateful to work in a firm and a community that supports those efforts. And I am most fortunate to be surrounded by talented colleagues.”

An experienced litigator, Power focuses her practice in trial and appellate work involving commercial business disputes.

An active member of the Seattle community, Power serves as a member of the board of trustees for the King County Bar Foundation and the Federal Bar Association for the Western District of Washington. She is active in pro bono impact litigation, representing and working with Legal Voice and Planned Parenthood in cases involving women’s reproductive rights. Power previously served as president of the board of directors of Legal Voice, and as a member of the board of directors of Crosscut Public Media and Washington Appleseed Center for Law in the Public Interest.
