Partner Bao M. Vu Selected to the Daily Journal’s 2022 ‘Top 40 Under 40’

Stoel Rives is pleased to announce that Bao M. Vu, San Francisco partner and head of the firm’s California Proposition 65 practice, has been recognized by the Los Angeles/San Francisco Daily Journal as a “Top 40 Under 40” attorney for 2022. This prestigious list celebrates the top attorneys under 40 in California for their achievements.

The Daily Journal noted Vu’s influential Prop 65 practice, for which he provides compliance counsel and litigation representation to a wide range of consumer products, food, nutritional supplement, oil and gas, and industrial commodity clients. The publication highlighted Vu’s defense work in cases challenging efforts of plaintiff groups seeking to improperly expand the scope of Prop 65, including his role as lead counsel for numerous manufacturers, distributors, and brands in some of the largest pending Prop 65 lawsuits.

Vu is currently recognized among Rising Stars (Business Litigation, Environmental Litigation) in Northern California Super Lawyers^®. Dedicated to using his legal skills to make a difference in Bay Area LGBTQ+ and Asian communities in need, he serves on the Board of AIDS Legal Referral Panel. He is also a past board member of the Silicon Valley Asian Law Alliance and has mentored law students and young attorneys through Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom (BALIF), the nation’s oldest and largest LBGTQ+ bar association. At Stoel, Vu is chair of the Culture Committee and vice chair of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee. He is also one of two liaisons from the Litigation practice for the firm’s participation in Diversity Lab’s Move the Needle (MTN) initiative.
