IP Partner Robert Teel Named One of Portland Business Journal’s 2019 Forty Under 40
Portland, Ore. — Stoel Rives LLP is pleased to announce that Robert R. Teel has been selected as a recipient of the Portland Business Journal Forty Under 40 award for 2019. The honorees were selected from several hundred nominees based on their career achievements, leadership, influence and impact within their communities and industries. The winners will be honored at an event June 21 at the Nines Hotel in downtown Portland. More information can be found here.
Teel is a specialist in intellectual property (IP) and a registered U.S. patent attorney who practices in Stoel Rives’ Portland and Boise offices. As a partner of the firm, Teel helps clients with their IP matters such as procuring and monetizing IP, assessing and avoiding infringements, and resolving related disputes. He combines his electrical engineering, business, and legal experiences to develop thoughtful IP strategies for technology companies — particularly for those designing sophisticated software, electrical circuitry, and optoelectronics.
“Rob has been with the firm since he was a summer clerk, and we’re glad he’s received this well-deserved recognition,” IP partner Steve Lovett said. “Over the 35-plus years of Stoel Rives’ IP practice, we’ve had many leading practitioners, and we’re excited that Rob has joined that group.”
Teel serves as Treasurer of and pro bono counsel for The Optical Society (OSA), Columbia Section, which he incorporated as an Oregon public benefit corporation. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers; Oregon State Bar, Intellectual Property Section; and Oregon Patent Law Association.
