Press Release

Stoel Rives LLP, an AmLaw 200 firm, congratulates associates Emily C. Atmore and Bradley R. Prowant on being named Minnesota Lawyer 2023 Up & Coming Attorneys. Atmore and Prowant and the other honorees will be profiled in the magazine’s “Up & Coming Attorneys/Unsung Legal Heroes” issue and honored during an awards luncheon on September 22, 2023, at the Radisson Blu in the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota.

The recognition is given to attorneys within their first 10 years of practice for their professional accomplishments, leadership in their community, and commitment to their profession. Attorneys are nominated and selected as honorees by an outside panel and the leadership of Minnesota Lawyer.

Atmore is a rising star in the Labor & Employment and Litigation groups at Stoel Rives. A highly skilled litigator with expertise in employment law, she is emerging as a leader at the firm through her efforts to build out a local employment practice in the Minneapolis office, as well as her recent wins in high-profile cases, work on business development initiatives and active roles on local and firmwide committees instrumental to firm management, recruiting, and diversity.

Atmore is also gaining prominence in Minnesota’s legal community through her work with Minnesota Women Lawyers and her high-impact pro bono service, including on a voting rights case that resulted in recently passed legislation and for which she won Stoel Rives’ “Andrew Guy Pro Bono Award” in 2021.

Prowant has a growing commercial litigation practice specializing in agribusiness and food and beverage. He has represented major agribusiness and beverage industry clients across the country in high-stakes litigation matters.

Prowant also has a demonstrated, deeply held commitment to public service law with a focus on impact litigation that advances civil rights. He maintains an active pro bono practice and has worked on several high-profile cases that are affirming important constitutional protections in Minnesota and nationwide. Prowant received the Andrew Guy Pro Bono Award in 2022 and was recognized by the Minnesota State Bar Association as a North Star Lawyer for donating 50+ annual pro bono hours for 2021 and 2022.

Atmore and Prowant are both active participants in Stoel’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee (DE&IC) initiatives. As a member of the firmwide DE&IC, Atmore develops strategies and tools to achieve the firm’s aggressive DE&I goals for increasing diversity. Prowant frequently takes the lead in planning, organizing, and promoting firmwide events for the DE&IC and discussions on important and timely topics advancing diversity education.
