Brant Norquist Named Pro Bono Attorney of the Year by SBLC
Press Release
PORTLAND- The U.S. law firm of Stoel Rives LLP is pleased to announce that Brant J. Norquist, a corporate attorney based in the firm’s Portland office, has been named the 2014 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year by the Small Business Legal Clinic (SBLC) of Lewis & Clark Law School. Founded in 2006, the SBLC provides pro bono business transactional law services for start-ups and small businesses. Seventy-five percent of the SBLC’s clients are businesses owned by women, minorities and recent immigrants.
In announcing the award, the SBLC noted that Norquist had shown “dedication, commitment and kindness” in his work on behalf of the clinic. The SBLC added that he had worked with numerous clinic clients in 2014 and received “rave reviews” from each one.
The SBLC, an Oregon State Bar certified pro bono program, depends on the contribution of volunteer attorneys to meet the needs of its clients. In 2014, more than 80 attorneys from the Portland area community volunteered over 650 pro bono hours for the clinic.
