Firm Managing Partner Melissa Jones Featured in Comstock’s Magazine ‘Women in Leadership’ Issue
Stoel Rives’ Firm Managing Partner Melissa A. Jones was chosen for inclusion in the Comstock’s magazine 2020 “Women in Leadership” issue, published March 2, 2020. To celebrate the centennial of the 19th Amendment, the publication is honoring 19 Sacramento-region leaders in its annual tribute to women in leadership.
The honorees were chosen from more than 80 nominees for having made “a demonstrated difference in their industries, companies, communities and the next generation of the workforce.” The group includes women who work in a variety of industries, including banking, law, education, arts, construction, energy, health care and technology.
Jones is featured in a video on the Comstock’s website with her advice for young leaders in their fields:
Jones, one of the youngest partners to lead an AmLaw 200 firm, took over the managing partner role at Stoel Rives at the start of 2020 and will aim to continue the firm’s trajectory after another successful year. In 2019, the firm added more than 20 attorneys to its Seattle office, primarily in the areas of corporate and real estate law. It also became one of only five law firms nationwide to launch the Move The Needle Fund, in partnership with Diversity Lab.
Previously, Jones, a trial attorney in Stoel Rives’ Litigation group, served as the California Office Managing Partner, the Chair of the Compensation Committee, and as a member of the Practice Management Committee and Executive Committee.
