Webinar: California SB 4 Compliance Update
Speaking Engagement
SB 4 went into effect on January 1, 2014, as did the Division of Oil, Gas & Geothermal Resources’ (“DOGGR”) 2014 Emergency Interim Regulations (“Interim Regulations”). As the months pass, operators are feeling the practical impacts of SB 4 on their day-to-day operations. Stoel Rives’ December SB 4 seminar in Bakersfield, CA introduced the elements of SB 4, as well as possible impacts on operators, before the Interim Regulations were released. This webinar is designed to follow-up on the next chapter of SB 4’s implementation, particularly where the Interim Regulations have filled in SB 4’s gaps.
Examples of topics covered include:
- Operator obligations associated with groundwater monitoring and the creation of a groundwater monitoring plan
- Potential impact on private property rights and operator obligations under SB 4 despite express agreement from the surface owner
- The scale and the scope of the notification process and options for water testing
- Strategies for compliance based on the first few months of SB 4 implementation
