SEATTLE- Stoel Rives LLP, a leading U.S. business law firm, is pleased to announce that Bart W. Reed has joined its Seattle office as Of Counsel in the firm's Real Estate and Construction group. Bart has extensive experience in complex construction law and multi-state litigation, representing owners/ developers, design professionals, general contractors, subcontractors and sureties on both private and government projects. More specifically, his experience covers a wide range of issues impacting construction clients, including issues of contract formation, non-payment and surety claims, mechanic's and materialman's liens and payment bond (Miller Act and "Little Miller Act") claims, design disputes and construction defect cases, as well as scheduling issues in the defense and prosecution of delay, impact and labor inefficiency claims.

In addition to the decade of experience Bart brings to the firm, he is also designated as a Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP). "Our clients will benefit greatly from Bart's experience. His knowledge of the LEED process enables him to provide clients with valuable insight and information when identifying and evaluating the legal and contractual issues associated with green building certification," said Melanie Curtice, Managing Partner of the Seattle office.

Bart is a graduate of Mercer University School of Law (J.D., 2000) and University of Georgia (B.A., with honors, 1996). He is admitted to practice in Georgia Washington and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. Previously he was a Partner and Shareholder at Hendrick Phillips Salzman & Flatt, PC in Atlanta, Georgia.
