Stoel Rives LLP, a U.S. business law firm, today announced that Jodi L. Johnson has joined the firm's Minneapolis office. Johnson, of counsel, will provide general corporate counsel services, with an emphasis on employment and real estate counsel.
Johnson takes a business-focused approach with her clients. Having worked for many years as corporate counsel, she recognizes the importance of integrating legal advice with a client's overall business objectives. Excellent communication skills, teamwork and practical legal solutions are the focus of Johnson's service delivery.
Her employment experience ranges from discrimination, wrongful termination, wage and hour disputes and non-compete agreements to harassment and workplace violence issues. Johnson also counsels private and public sector employers on risk mitigation strategies, including hiring and termination, leave and accommodation requests, employment contract issues, employee handbooks, wage and hour compliance, and leave policies. She also works extensively with owner and developer clients on real estate issues, including acquisitions and dispositions, development, condominium conversions, leasing, financing and dispute resolution issues.
"Jodi's addition reflects an ongoing commitment to expand our services to local clients," said Kevin Johnson, managing partner of the firm's Minneapolis office. "Our office now offers capabilities in corporate, finance, securities, tax planning, estate planning and administration, labor and employment, real estate, land use and environmental, intellectual property — and all aspects of business litigation. Our clients will benefit greatly from Jodi's experience. I'm delighted to welcome her to our Minneapolis team."
Johnson is a graduate of William Mitchell College of Law (J.D. magna cum laude, 1997) and St. Cloud State University (B.S., 1994) and is admitted to practice by the state bar of Minnesota. She previously practiced at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP and Monroe Moxness Berg for 14 years.
