PORTLAND- Karen E. Jones has joined Stoel Rives 32-member Energy & Telecommunications practice group. Jones, who is Of Counsel to the firm, practices energy law with an emphasis on the development, acquisition, sale, finance, construction and operation of energy projects and the structuring and negotiation of energy contracts.

Jones brings to the firm a combined 18 years of large-firm and in-house transactional experience. Before joining Stoel Rives, Jones was an assistant general counsel for Enron North America in Portland, Oregon, where her work focused on the development, finance, acquisition and disposition of power-generating assets and interests in the western United States. From 1994 to 1997, Jones was Of Counsel to Perkins Coie LLP in Portland, Oregon, and from 1984 to 1992 she was associated with Vinson & Elkins LLP in Houston, Texas, where her practices included general business, real estate and finance transactions.

Jones received her law degree from the University of Houston College of Law and is licensed to practice in Oregon, Washington and Texas.
