Stoel Rives Provides a Full Complement of Services to Pacific Northwest Wineries
11/19/2010

Summary:

Stoel Rives food and beverage attorney Susan Johnson discussed in the Puget Sound Business Journal the growing demand for specialized legal services in the Pacific Northwest's burgeoning wine and spirits sector. The number of Washington State wineries currently stands at more than 680, almost double the number from a decade ago. Areas of wine-related law that have particular bearing on the industry's bottom line include shipping, legislation, licensing, permitting and trademarks.

Johnson, who joined Stoel Rives in October 2009, said the firm has established a series of initiatives aimed at developing "deep expertise" in the alcoholic beverages sector. "We work with at least 100 Washington wineries, and an equal or greater number in Oregon as well," Johnson noted. "We can provide full service to all the different needs that come up within the course of doing business."

"Washington state law firms pour resources into wine practices" was published by the Puget Sound Business Journal, November 12, 2010.
